Today’s big question is related to the silicone implant of the French factory PIP (Poly Implant Prothese). Little is known about what were the reasons that led the manufacturer to replace the gel used, which was practically the same gel for all the prostheses of the world, by another silicone gel with a few studies.

ANVISA (National Health Surveillance Agency) has spoken, saying that the prosthesis DO NOT NEED TO BE REPLACED WITH URGENCY!!!

In fact, the recommendation is that patients, who have this implant, need to be examined by their surgeon, and that he will be able to evaluate the need or not to the exchange.

In a recent publication, last December 23rd, the President of IPRAS (International Confederation of Plastic Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery),   Dr. Marita Eisenmann-Klein emphasizes that not only the brand PIP is under suspicion of poor quality in the manufacture of breast implants.

There is another called M. Implants, distributed by a company called Rofil, the Netherlands.

The recommendation, after all, is for the patients that have not been feeling comfortable with their implants, to contact their surgeons for advice. Those who do not know the brand of their implants also contact their surgeons.

“Plastic surgery is now a medical-technical resource for the pursuit of psychosomatic balance of the patient, I mean, is medicine for the well being of life and humanity.
Therefore, must be done in the most absolute conditions of safety to the patient. As Master Pitanguy says, "is surgery of the body and soul."
The plastic surgeon is a psychologist with a scalpel in the hands. He can soften the marks of time on the skin, perform an inner desire, function as a link to the maintenance of self-esteem.
Providing people better social life, greater acceptance of their "self" and work rehabilitation by the correction of disabling defects. He must respect the individuality of each, craving a more natural result and imperceptible to the eye of a layman. "
